Smartphone Addiction

We all know that people can easily become addicted to various things such as drugs, alcohol, gambling, gaming, and now social platforms. Social platforms and other media are all competing fiercely to catch our attention. As a result, IT companies hire the smartest engineers and even professional psychologists to develop the most addictive apps. Are we aware of this?

Although I’ve seen some people reduce their use of social platforms, they remain a significant part of most people’s lives. We are so familiar with them that when one of my friends stopped using Instagram for a year, I thought she might have died!

The rate at which information updates is also astonishing. One time, I saw a teenager post, “This is not news; it happened in the morning, and now it’s already night!” That shocked me.

I think social platforms tend to feed us more and more junk information, and we should keep young people away from them. Short videos are extremely popular now, and they act like a drug to people’s brains. I believe technology can be used in better ways than just making people addicted and earning money from them.
